I have purchased these on multiple occasions for various rooms. The slate adds a rustic touch, and is a vast improvement over standard plastic switch plates. In a small bathroom, I used a gray slate, which complemented my gray slate floors. In a couple of other rooms I have used the red, which adds a subtle pop of color.
Of the 3 slate plates I ordered, the red is my favorite. I ordered it in the double duplex for our bedroom and the red just takes the cake. Very vibrant without being tacky...still elegant earthy stone. If I were to need a larger plate in the future (say for our many-toggled kitchen), I'd go with red. Even though this is the plate that's least visible in the room, it's the one that receives the most compliments.
This was a bit more than I had wanted to pay but I just received the plate and it is so beautiful! I live in a log cabin and this particular 4 toggle plate is right by the front door-it makes a huge difference! The shipping was lightening fast and the company was nice enough to even include a little screwdriver
Great company. Easy to make returns. Pretty switch plate. Remodeled our bathroom in stone and this complemented nicely. Downside is it doesn't fit flush against the wall probably because of the slate. The screws are a bit flimsy also because they're plastic but match in color.

We remodeled our kitchen and put in a "brick" wall which needed better switch plates than plastic. We ordered the red slate--they are perfect and the picture was true to color and our switchplates match perfectly--the other walls in the kitchen are painted brick red. They add class and style to our new kitchen.
The color on the website is very true to the actual color. These are very beautiful and are perfect with our new back-splash which is done in a multi-cherry color glass. This is not a true red but a cherry or burgundy color that goes well with a cherry wood look. This is NOT a bright red and it is flat not shiny so it blends in well and does not stand out against a back-splash or tile that you want to stand out. It worked perfect for us!
I have a log home which has lots of different woods in it. The red slate switch plates fit in perfectly in one hall way. I also have some dragonfly switch plates, and many others, which add color and beauty. They make each room so much more interesting.
These switchplates were so easy to purchase and install! My kitchen looks great with the slate finished look that these switch plates provide. I am thoroughly impressed!
